My public art practice focuses on creating durable, site-responsive murals developed through collaboration with clients, stakeholders, and communities..
Public Art Statement
My public art practice begins with careful observation of how people move through and use shared spaces — how they arrive, pass through, linger, and gather. I pay close attention to light, rhythm, and everyday interactions, using these insights to inform imagery and composition that feel intuitive, welcoming, and grounded in place.
Artistically, my murals rely on narrative suggestion and symbolic clarity rather than literal depiction. I aim to create imagery that can be read at multiple speeds: offering an immediate sense of orientation and warmth from a distance, while rewarding closer looking over time. This layered approach allows the work to function both as a visual anchor within a space and as an experience that deepens through repeated encounters.
Each project is developed in direct response to site conditions, architecture, and circulation patterns. I use cohesive visual language and flowing forms to echo movement through the space, supporting a sense of connection and belonging without prescribing a single interpretation. The goal is to create murals that feel integrated into daily life and reflective of community identity in an open, inclusive way.
From the earliest stages of a project, I align concept, scale, materials, and access with a realistic schedule and budget. I confirm equipment needs and installation logistics early, and I have extensive experience working in active urban environments, including coordinating access, safety, and lift operation. When appropriate, I utilize off-site painting methods to minimize disruption while maintaining durability and high visual quality.
Ultimately, my goal is to create public artwork that is both iconic and approachable — strengthening the public realm through thoughtful design, careful execution, and long-term presence.
